    Hello to my Xangaland friends! I am posting for the first time and also downloaded some photos of our family. I am learning how to create my site step by step here but this is all new to me and quite interesting. I want to thank you for waiting so patiently for my first post!

  We are having a lovely day here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The sheets and tablecloths are flapping on the washline while the rest of the laundry is drying inside. The Steve Esh family was here on Tues night for dinner, a party with friends, and overnight. Then we went to a funeral the following day and am just now getting things caught up around here.

  Kali, Zach, and Zane made their trek down to the barn this morning to play with 2 alpine kids that were born this past Thurs. We also have 4 little chicks, hatched a week ago under a heat lamp, who just graduated from their box here in the house this morning.

  We were at Uncle Paul Beiler's funeral, from Tryon NC,  this past Wed and Thurs. He died suddenly this past Monday in an automobile accident. The funeral service was touching, heart stirring, the spirit of the Living God moved hearts. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints . . . the family has an awesome testimony with their faith, they are reaching out to the Lord and bringing glory to His name. The sons who spoke at the funeral shared from their heart and praised the Lord. The life that Uncle Paul lived was one of total dedication to Christ. We are left with the question, what are we doing with our life? Whom do we serve? Are we willing to get back up and go on in faith when difficulties get us down?

  Kali and Zach went ice skating with the school this past week, I will post a few pics.

  I am reading Beautiful in God's Eyes and am challenged on being a Prov 31 woman! The Lord is working on me to be a better wife and mother. This is not about me trying harder to be a more perfect lady, but about BEING in Christ, to be sanctified and made holy so that my motives are pure for Christ. The Lord is also showing me that I have looked up to people more then I should have, I cared so much what people think of me. I have learned this is idolatry! For when we run everything through a people filter and wonder what they think instead of obeying God, this is pleasing man more then God!

  We were recently blest to be at a worship service where Ron Block performed and shared his testimony. You can read about him on ronblock.com  Go to About and then to Bio. I would encourage you to go to his concerts if you have the chance. Ron shared a griping story of years he spent trying to get his self worth from how well he played guitar and also with being mr. nice guy. He became a christian at age 6 but then spent many years trying to do things to get approval from man. He said that when he came to the end of himself and completely yielded his life to Christ, only then did he experience true peace and freedom with his ministry.
